Continuously, I'm facing new opportunities, duties, and freedoms in this life of God's. I forget sometimes that it really is His life---not mine..
Got my first bill in the mail today. DirecTV: $24.99/month. Doesn't sound so bad, but the catch is you must sign a 24 mth agreement. Still not bad, but the price goes up to 55.00/month after the first 12 mths. Yea, and my apartment complex only allows DirecTV.. Go figure!
First bill, first Church. This is my weekend to work, but I've gotta start looking for a new Church home. I'm still a member at FBC Houston; obviously, I cannot drive there every week to worship. So I've been looking around. Lots of Baptist & Non-denominational churches in Tupelo that tend to have Baptist-like beliefs. One of my friends Micah Lambert, a nurse in the ER on my shift, has been inviting me to Harrisburg since he met me.. He's singing in the morning so I'm gonna stay up after I get off at 6 and go to the 8:30AM service. Yes, I will crash afterwards for sure!
But hey, I don't see where satan should be able to use work as an excuse for me to miss worshipping my King. Just sayin!
This is my first night back on at work.. Every day I've been off this week, I've been sick with the stomach virus. Yep that means both ends! :) TMI, I know.. ha Better now, though.
Leads me to my next first.. First time I've been sick alone! You other spoiled brats who've had your parents at your every beckon call each time you've been under the weather--- Praise God for that . It will soon end. While they called and checked on me non-stop, I was physically alone. Kind of a lonely feelin'. But part of growin up.
That's all for now. Praying for my followers tonight. I pray God blesses you right where He has you serving!

Wow
That's the best title I could come up with to describe the past two months of my life.
So many things have changed, mainly in the past 2 weeks or so.
Let's take it from the beginning to get you caught up...
On February 2nd, my dad, my brother Blake, and I took a day-long road trip to Tupelo because I had finally decided I needed to get serious about looking around at apartments. The costs
of fuel and eating out before, during, and after work have gotten ridiculous... Especially when the
bosses schedule last minute staff meetings, and I have gotten really involved with work on committees. So we toured several apartment complexes in the city and just outside the city in
Belden. Narrowed it down to three, but I only felt at home at one location.
Long story short, I prayed and thought it over for the night. The next morning, I just felt a peace about Vista Ridge. So I went and signed a 12 mth lease. Vista Ridge is located on North
Gloster in the Barnes Crossing District of Tupelo, just across from the famous MDOT shrubbery.
(Ha). Pics of the new place to come. So I planned on moving in 2 weeks ago when my whole
family could help me transport stuff.
On Friday night the 12th, my mom called me saying she was going out to the hospital--adding that my great grandmother (futurely referred to as Grandmommie) wasn't feeling too well.
She didn't seem too concerned, as Grandmommie didn't ever complain much. They did
several tests, resulting in nothing to figure out why Grandmommie just didn't feel well.
I got the call about 3:30 PM. About 7:30 PM, she began having shortness of breath. The paramedic came alive in me as I tried to diagnose her condition.
Again, long story short, her clinical condition went down hill pretty quick. Dr. Lamb (love this guy) did another EKG just to make sure something cardiac wasn't the cause of this. Turned out, Grandmommie had a massive heart attack. At the age of 93, there wasn't much to be done. However, Dr. Lamb consulted with the cardiologist to double check. After talking with we family, it was decided to keep her comfortable and let God handle the duration.
I'll never take anything for the last moments of Grandmommie's life I got to spend with her. Absolutely every member of my family who lived close got to actually have a normal conversation with her before she died. I'm serious when I say she was fully awake and alert up until just a few minutes before she passed to Heaven. I was a pallbearer at the funeral. It is my prayer that my visitation/funeral will be a celebration of Christ's work in my life--her's was outstanding.
Per my parents' request, I still moved in that weekend. Even managed to make it to work that night after the funeral. Jesus is doing some amazing things in my life as of now.. More to come later. Hope you have an opportunity to spend a little bit of Quiet time with your Savior today. It sure did make a difference in mine.
